99 Questions
This book will help parents ask the most pertinent questions on the occasions that they are able to speak personally with their children’s teachers. These questions will pertain to both teaching and learning; not just grades, which are not a proper indicator of development.
This book is also for teachers, because not all of them are parents, and some aren’t ready for these types of questions. Therefore, we should all know, or want to know the answers to these questions to simply ‘Do the Right Thing’ for our students. The reason we are writing this book is that we feel parents and teachers are a team. Over the years we have seen how the relationship between teacher, school, parent and student can be taxing at times.
The more parents know about what and how their child should be learning and doing in class, the more they feel they are able to help. Students learn so many things in schools - including some things that we’d rather they didn’t learn. This book is an effort to focus the teaching and learning on goals, and help parents and caregivers to navigate the educational system.
